2 Million Safe Man-Hours Achieved

2008 ‘The year of achievements’ as it had accomplished a number of landmarks: Achieved 2 million Safe man-hours without loss time injury which were the result of implementing sound initiatives to industrial safety and the commitment of company’s employees to safe–work guidelines. Successful management of environment, health and safety which has been always a high priority for Nama chemicals and its affiliates. 

As a part of EHS processes besides laying down guidelines on systems, policy & training, Nama Chemicals and its affiliates monitor compliance, maintain and disseminate information on laws and regulations. 

Safety & Security department launches their new program called NAMA AMAN. NAMA AMAN is the reflection of the company safety & Security objective to become a learning organization

The revised Emergency Response Plan – including the new ECH, Chloralkali and Calcium chloride plants was introduced in the first quarter of 2008 to be ready for Nama Chemicals and its affiliates for any emergency. The plan covers different drills scenarios in all sites with all working shifts. The program has continues evaluation after each drill and every quarter to further improve readiness.

Safety Behavior Audit program is one of the new activities under NAMA AMAN where all employees will help to improve the company wide safety culture.  

EHS performance review meetings are held regular basis to monitor the progress against agreed EHS improvement plans.  

On the road to EHS excellence, in addition to different safety programs already up running at Nama chemicals & its affiliates this year, it has been decided to update EHS management system for certification of OSHA 18001 & ISO 14001.
